We are pleased to announce the new "Herbs Feather Cutter" that has been modeled from the "Vario" which is no longer being made.

Our cutter is what we consider an improved version of the vario. All of the Herbs Feather Cutter blades will work perfectly in your Vario, without any modifications. Your vario blades that you already have will also work perfectly in the new "Herbs feather cutter. Herbs feather cutter is made with the same precision and quality of the Vario. We use the same tough and reliable cutting knife, and have improved the feather holding strip. The body is manufactured with solid steel heavy plates and hinges for years of reliable use.

We are so confident in the construction of our "Herbs Feather Cutter" that we offer a 5 year replacement warranty on the body, hinges and wood parts of every Herbs Feather Cutter. Cutting blades, feather holding strips and the metal alignment plate are subject to normal wear and tear over time and are excluded from this warranty . These parts are available at a nominal cost.

The fletches above were all cut with a 4" parabolic blade by adjusting the base plate for height and length.

Operating Instructions

Cutting perfect fletches from your New Herbs Feather cutter is a simple and easy task as shown in the photos. Place your full length feather in the base along the line up strip.

Gently close the lid to hold the feather in place,and give the top plate a wack with a rubber mallet.

Give the lid a short quick wack with a Rubber or wood mallet.

Remove your perfect fletch

Some customers are using their hand instead of a mallet to make the cut. If you use this way you will need to hold the cutter in one hand to absorb the shock while striking the lid with a fist from your other hand. Do Not use your hand to strike the lid if the cutter is on a table or bench! It will hurt. If you don't have tough hands ,use the Rubber mallet.

To make the cut with either your mallet or fist you need to make a short quick strike on the lid. Remember you are cutting a feather, not cutting a board or driving a nail.It does not take a lot of force to make a clean cut.

Your "Herbs Feather Cutter" is designed and intended to cut feathers only.Do not use it for any other purpose or damage to the cutter will result and your warranty will be void. Your feather cutter should last for many years with normal use and care.

To change fletching shapes remove the 2 screws holding the cutter blade and install the new shape blade. Please don't over tighten the screws when changing the blades. Snug is fine. They will not back out.

Your feather cutter is also adjustable within reason by loosening the screws on the base plate and sliding the base plate up or down.You can make your fletch profile higher or lower, or change the length by adjusting the base plate to create a unique size fletch.If you change shapes and sizes draw a line along the base plate on the wood base and label it for future reference so that you can duplicate the fletches you cut later on.
